In this example, the payout for a win on a bet of one hundred and ten dollars is two hundred and ten dollars. If you were to make two bets, one on heads and one on tails, the total cost to make those two bets is ten dollars more than the payout for a win. This difference between the payout and the cost to cover both sides of the wager is called the juice and it is what ensures that the bookmaker will make money on the wager regardless of the outcome.
